Brief Description: An ancient language of northwestern Italy, in the territory between the Apennines and the Gulf of Genoa. Though the Ligurians seem to have spread widely in the Mediterranean, very little is known of their language, since only a few words remain. The language is possibly Indo-European, but if so it has not been related to any grouping. 300 BC- 100 AD.
